To further establish COWI as a customer-centric company, we are looking for a Market Director to join the Water/Wastewater team in the UK and Ireland. You’ll report directly to the Senior Market Director and be an integral part of the business development team specialising in the Water/Wastewater sector. As our new Market Director, you will be responsible for strategically developing customer and partner relationships for COWI's business in the UK and Ireland and delivering the growth target.


Responsibilities

* Growing business development activities in the Water/Wastewater sector for COWI with clients located across the UK and Ireland to meet growth targets.
* Ensuring early identification of leads and right partners to tender within the Water/Wastewater sector.
* The continuous updating of the UK Pipeline for specific focus areas and implementing the ‘Go/No/Go’ process.
* Working closely with technical staff and the bid support team, you’ll coordinate the capture and bid processes for both major and regional project opportunities.
* Developing and delivering Bid-Winning strategies including Commercial offering in conjunction with the delivery team (including delivering high-quality proposals).
* Maintaining customer focus and continuity through delivery including frameworks. Undertaking framework management responsibilities.
* Participating in COWI UK’s market leadership team.
* Building and maintaining an effective network with clients and partners located in the UK and Ireland including key account management.
* Contributing to the development and implementation of strategies and actions plans to support business growth in the specific focus areas.
* Contributing to identifying technical development areas and for conveying this to line management.
* Maintaining close liaison with the discipline sector leads across the UK business COWI Group sharing market and customer knowledge.

What you’ll have

* Previously worked as a Chartered Engineer within the Water/Wastewater sector.
* A Water/wastewater design engineering background, working within multi-disciplinary teams. This could be with a designer, client or contractor.
* A good technical background in the Water/Wastewater sector, combined with effective leadership in work -winning.
* Relevant business development or framework management and leadership experience in the Water/Wastewater sector
* An established network of contacts relevant to the growth of the COWI's Water sector in the UK and Ireland, including in clients, contractors and partner organisations.
* Prior experience developing major proposals and market initiatives within the consulting or engineering industry.
* Experience of delivering water and wastewater projects through all stages of project delivery (concept to commissioning and project handover).
* Comprehensive grasp of legal, contractual, and financial issues in the sector.
* Trust-based relationship building skills.
* Experience in coastal protection and marine works would be advantageous.
