Advanced Practitioner (Neurodiversity) – Join Our Inclusive Education Team

Term time only – Up to 31 hours per week (up to 25 hours student contact/face to face delivery)

SCFA Teachers Pay Scale 1-9 Dependant On Experience

January 2026 start

Are you passionate about inclusive education and eager to champion neurodiverse learners? We are expanding our support services as part of a trust-wide commitment to increase our inclusive offer for students. As Advanced Practitioner (Neurodiversity), you will be a key member of a new specialist team dedicated to supporting students with specific learning differences (such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and related needs) across St Vincent College and Richard Taunton Sixth Form College. This newly created role offers you the opportunity to shape our provision for neurodiverse learners and make a significant impact on student success and inclusion.

About The Role

In this specialist leadership position, you will drive high-quality support for learners with neurodiverse conditions, ensuring their college experience is positive, inclusive, and empowering. Working under the Specialist Learning Support Manager and alongside curriculum and support staff, you will implement an innovative model of inclusive practice for neurodiverse learners group-wide. You’ll also maintain direct involvement with students by delivering some teaching and support sessions yourself – keeping you closely attuned to learners’ needs while you guide others.

The Advanced Practitioner (Neurodiversity) plays a pivotal role in delivering and leading specialist support for neurodiverse students, particularly those with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and related needs. Responsibilities include designing and implementing proactive, person-centred support, conducting assessments, and developing tailored learning plans. The role involves a blend of direct teaching, mentoring students through individual and group interventions, and collaborating with staff through training, coaching, and mentoring to promote best practice in inclusive education. Additionally, the practitioner coordinates holistic support and smooth transitions by working closely with families and external agencies, maintaining thorough records and reviews, and leading a dedicated team to ensure all neurodiverse learners thrive within the college community.

Why Join Us? – Inclusive Vision and New Team

By joining our team, you become part of a forward-thinking trust that places inclusivity at the heart of its mission. This role is at the centre of an exciting initiative: we are building a dedicated specialist team to enhance support for neurodiverse learners and ensure every student thrives. You will have the opportunity to shape this new team from the ground up, influence college-wide practices, and see first-hand the difference your expertise makes.

Closing date: Friday 22nd August 2025 at 12pm

Interview date: Week commencing 1st September
