Accounts Receivable Manager (12-Month Contract)

The Opportunity
We are partnering with a well-established, international brand to recruit an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager on a 12-month contract. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving cash flow performance, improving processes, and leading a high-performing AR team across the UK & Ireland.
The Role
As Accounts Receivable Manager, you will take ownership of the end-to-end AR function, ensuring operational excellence while delivering strategic improvements. You will play a critical role in strengthening customer relationships and optimising working capital.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the full accounts receivable cycle across a large customer base
* Develop and implement effective collection strategies to reduce overdue debt
* Review and approve credit limits, payment terms, and new credit applications
* Manage escalated and complex customer accounts
* Ensure compliance with UK regulations, including Late Payment of Commercial Debts legislation
* Monitor aged debt and maintain DSO within target levels
* Produce monthly reporting, KPIs, and insights for senior stakeholders
* Manage bad debt provisions and write-off processes
* Lead account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
* Work cross-functionally with Sales and Customer Service to resolve billing issues
* Oversee invoicing, credit notes, and AR ledger integrity
* Drive continuous improvement across credit control processes and systems
* Act as the key AR subject matter expert for internal stakeholders
* Support wider finance transformation and process optimisation initiatives
Team Leadership
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 5
* Set performance objectives and conduct regular reviews
* Allocate workload effectively
* Ensure team performance and service levels are consistently achieved
About You
* Strong experience in Accounts Receivable / Credit Control leadership
* Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships
* Advanced Excel and financial systems expertise
* Analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into actionable insights
* Demonstrated success in driving process improvements
* Highly organised with a structured approach
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence across departments
