Legal Accounts Assistant

Our client, a well-established firm of solicitors based in Kingston upon Thames, is seeking an experienced individual to join their busy accounts team.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within the accounts department of a law firm, with a solid understanding of legal accounting procedures and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Opening client files and managing associated administrative tasks
* Handling ID and compliance checks, including proof and source of funds
* Applying a thorough knowledge of anti-money laundering legislation
* Processing payments from the client account and managing incoming receipts
* Inputting and managing bank payments
* Reconciling accounts and identifying incoming funds
* Processing client-to-office transfers
* Managing HMLR and Searchflow statements and payments
* Running regular credit control procedures
* Responding to queries from fee earners
* Providing absence and holiday cover for other members of the accounts team
* Managing file closures
Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week, typically from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, with a one-hour lunch break.
