Applicationsare invited for five Registrar (ST3+)-level Trust Doctor positions within theSpecialty and Integrated Medicine Clinical Service Unit at Leeds TeachingHospitals NHS Trust. The posts, which are available for immediate start andfixed-term until 4th August 2026, are ideally suited to resident doctors whohave completed Internal Medicine Training (or equivalent) and are looking formore experience before entering a formal Higher Specialty Training programme.
Thesuccessful applicants will predominantly work within the Leeds Centre for OlderPeoples Medicine, which covers a Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) Frailty Unit,Acute Medical Units, and multiple in-patient Specialty Wards, as well asproviding support to community-based services. Excellent training willtherefore be provided in the management of acutely unwell and deterioratingpatients, Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment, rehabilitation, multidisciplinaryteamworking, and discharge planning. Out-of-hours, our Registrar-level doctorsalso contribute to the acute unselected take, providing experience in a broadrange of general medical presentations.
Aswell as delivering direct clinical care, the postholders will be expected toprovide advice and guidance to resident doctors working at Foundation andInternal Medicine Training Year 1 / 2-level. They will also help to develop,and contribute to, our active weekly teaching programme.

DUTIESOF THE POST
To ensure high quality and safe care ofpatients within the department resulting in excellent clinical outcomes.
To contribute directly to patient careby, for example, reviewing patients, organising investigations and acting onresults, initiating and changing treatment, and speaking to patients and theirrelatives/carers about their illness and clinical progress.
To undertake essential administrativeduties, including prescribing, writing electronic discharge letters, andliaising with colleagues in primary care.
To contribute to a multidisciplinaryapproach to patient care, working collaboratively with a large team of alliedhealthcare professionals, including specialist nurses, physiotherapists,occupational therapists, and discharge coordinators.
LEVELSOF RESPONSIBILITY
Thepost-holder will be expected to work at the level of a Registrar (ST3equivalent). They will have access to supervision and support from a ConsultantPhysician at all times.
