Job Description
We are recruiting a Support Worker to work within a prison based Drug and Alcohol Service, supporting psychosocial patients with complex needs including substance misuse, mental health and trauma histories. This is a frontline role within a secure environment, delivering structured, recovery focused interventions while contributing to the smooth running of the wider service.\n\nThis role requires resilience, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to balance direct service user work with administrative responsibilities.\n\nThe Role\n\nYou will work closely with Recovery Coordinators and senior practitioners to deliver high quality, personalised support to individuals at different stages of their recovery journey.\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n• Managing a caseload of approximately 30 to 40 patients with varying needs\n• Delivering one to one psychosocial support and structured group sessions\n• Facilitating groups on overdose awareness, harm reduction and related topics\n• Completing comprehensive assessments and contributing to care planning\n• Providing advice and information on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cessation, blood borne viruses and safe sex\n• Preparing patients for release and transfer through effective release planning and throughcare\n• Delivering trauma informed, strengths based and recovery oriented interventions\n• Seeking out, listening to and acting...
