Job Description
We are currently seeking a Project Manager to oversee the development of over 400 units in Windsor, Berkshire. The project involves constructing 420 apartments across 6 blocks, including 5 x 6-storey blocks and 1 x 7-storey block, utilizing lightweight steel frame construction.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage daily construction activities to maximize profitability and client satisfaction while ensuring adherence to schedules, Health and Safety, and Quality Control standards.
2. Implement and maintain SHE procedures.
3. Coordinate with subcontractors on H&S matters, ensuring RAMs are in place before work begins.
4. Support procurement strategies by monitoring procurement activities and assisting in the timely appointment of subcontractors.
5. Attend pre-contract meetings with subcontractors.
6. Monitor progress regularly, assist the Project Director in reporting, and manage works to meet contractual and program targets.
7. Develop short-term programming plans.
8. Review construction drawings for buildability and compliance, ensuring smooth communication of information to the supply chain.
9. Assist in negotiations and orders with utility companies for timely installation of services.
10. Conduct subcontractor pre-commencement and progress meetings, including recording minutes.
11. Perform quality inspections and checks on works.
12. Complete take-offs for material ordering as needed.
13. Maintain commercial awareness, understanding the project's financial strategies and managing expenditure, including prelims budget.
14. Communicate effectively, focusing on customer service.
