Trainee Mortgage Adviser
Overview
Following ongoing success throughout the business, we have recently promoted several of our current Trainee Mortgage Advisers who have now taken up their new roles as full‑time home‑based Mortgage Advisers. We are now seeking our next intake of candidates looking for an outstanding opportunity to become a fully CeMAP qualified Mortgage and Protection Adviser in a role that offers a genuine long‑term career in Financial Services.
Location
You will be based full‑time at our offices in Wakefield WF2 0XG. Once your training is complete and you have your full CeMAP qualifications you will be promoted to a full time home‑based Mortgage and Protection Adviser.
Start Date
Our next intake will take place in May 2026. Please ensure you can commit to this when applying.
Daily Commute
To be considered for this role, you must have your own vehicle to commute to our offices as required, or live locally enough to commute via reliable public transport within 45 minutes.
Target
Candidates with a strong desire to work within the Financial Services arena, with a strong proven track record in customer service and/or sales.
Year One Rewards
During the first 12 months, you will receive a salary guarantee of £30,000. This is comprised of a basic salary of £26,600 and a guaranteed commission of £3,400. Any additional commission above £3,400 is yours. You can also qualify for a bonus top‑up at the end of the 12‑month period if you exceed targets. Overtime is regularly available.
After 12 Months
Upon successful completion of your first year, you will be promoted to a Senior Trainee. Your basic salary will increase to £27,500 plus commission and bonus, giving an OTE of £40K‑£45K.
CeMAP Support
We will provide full financial support to gain CeMAP Mortgage Adviser qualifications, including full provision for study materials and all exam entry costs.
Working Hours
Working a rotating rota including early (9:00‑18:00) and late starts (11:00‑20:00), working every other weekend (10:00‑19:00). Ensure you can commit to these hours prior to application.
Role Responsibilities
Your role will consist of office‑based working as the first point of contact for our customers. You will be responsible for making and receiving calls to customers referred by national house‑builder clients, accurately recording their details as part of their mortgage application, partially completing a fact‑find, researching lenders’ affordability and criteria, and arranging appointments with specialist Mortgage Advisers.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
* A strong desire to work within the Financial Services Industry, particularly within mortgages and protection.
* A strong track record in customer service and sales.
* Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with outstanding communication and listening skills, able to explain complex information in a clear and simple format.
* Organised, and adopts a disciplined and structured approach to work.
* Highly competent user of IT and a competent Microsoft Office user, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
