Associated British Ports (ABP) is the UK’s leading ports group, helping to keep Britain trading every day. We now have an excellent opportunity for a Marine Radio Operator to join our Marine Department at the Port of Immingham.

This is a pivotal role within our 24/7 operational environment, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vessels through clear communication, accurate information sharing, and effective control of lock operations. If you thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced setting and have a strong interest in the marine or port industry, we’d love to hear from you. Please note this is a shift based role with 12 hour days and nights. Two days/two nights followed by four off, repeated five times, and then 14 days off.

Key responsibilities include:

3. Liaising closely with VTS Humber to monitor and support vessel movements.
4. Providing up‑to‑date marine operational information to internal teams, agents, customers and visiting vessels.
5. Operating CCTV systems to monitor vessel activity and record incidents or damage.
6. Operating the Lock Control and impounding systems for Immingham enclosed Dock in accordance with established procedures.
7. Inputting and managing operational data via the PAVIS system.
8. Managing access control to restricted areas including the lockside, East and West lead‑in jetties and the dock office building.
9. Initiating the Marine Response and safety alert system when directed during major marine incidents.
