Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Location: NewmarketShift: 14:00 - 22:00 / 40 hours per week / Monday to Friday
Qualifications:
* Strong background in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
* Proficiency in hydraulics and pneumatics.
* Familiarity with various drive mechanisms, including simplex, duplex, chains, belts, gearboxes, and transmission systems.
* Valid UK driving licence; experience in a heavy industrial setting is essential.
* Forklift and MEWP licences are a plus but not mandatory.
* Experience in in-house fabrication and maintenance, including welding (MMA, MAG, MIG), flame cutting, and plasma cutting is preferred.
* Competence in using power tools such as abrasive wheels, plasma cutters, and mag drills is desirable.
Educational Requirements:
* City and Guilds / NVQ Level 3 / HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Responsibilities:
* Execute preventative maintenance and condition monitoring of production equipment as per schedules, ensuring accurate documentation of findings and completed tasks.
* Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and operational teams to facilitate efficient maintenance processes.
* Conduct safety inspections of tools and machinery.
* Diagnose and repair equipment faults safely to minimise downtime and costs.
* Proactively identify potential machine failures, making recommendations to enhance reliability and performance.
* Maintain comprehensive records of all maintenance activities performed.
* Undertake maintenance tasks effectively and promptly, utilising appropriate methods.
* Initiate machine upgrades aimed at improving lifespan, efficiency, and safety, communicating suggestions to management.
* Attend mandatory training sessions when required.
* Adhere to safe working practices, reporting any issues that arise and coordinating with the HS&E department for risk assessments.
* Participate in identifying workplace hazards and developing effective safety systems.
* Ensure compliance with the Company's Quality Management and Environmental Management Systems to minimise environmental impact and maintain product quality.
