Description
Overview/Function: The Route Driver plays a key role in the sales process of Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company products, making timely deliveries to various customer locations. They may also assist in setting out and/or rotating new products and adjusting point-of-sale displays.
Major Responsibilities:
* Follow work orders and standard operating procedures (SOPs) while making deliveries of Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling company products to customer sites along designated routes.
* Follow all DOT laws and company policies and standards.
* Unload vehicle at customer site, move product to designated locations, fill shelves, rotate stock, build displays, and receive prior unsold goods (credits).
* Follow all safety regulations. Maintain a clean and orderly work area at customer sites to ensure safety for themselves and customers.
* Ensure professional contact with customers and maintain a clean and neat appearance at all times to favorably represent the company and Coca-Cola brand image.
* Conduct oneself ethically at all times.
* Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
Experience & Qualifications:
* High school diploma/GED.
* No more than 2 moving violations and no OWIs in the last five years.
* Class A CDL with air brakes is required. Assistance will be provided to obtain this license.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills to interact professionally with customers and uphold the company's brand image.
* Ability to read and follow directions and work orders.
* Adherence to all safety requirements and protocols.
* Customer-focused and a team player.
* Flexible and adaptable to varying situations.
* Some light computer experience is helpful.
* Reliable transportation and regular, consistent attendance are essential.
Additional Information
* The role involves travel to various customer sites with differing environments.
* This position is highly active, requiring alertness and focus while driving. Employees will frequently lift/move items up to 55 lbs. Equipment and tools will be provided to reduce strain and injury.
* Physical activities include standing, walking, twisting, grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, sitting, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
* Climbing stairs and interacting with customers are frequent.
* Extensive travel is expected daily.
* The role requires working in diverse weather conditions typical of Iowa (sun, rain, sleet, snow, cold, heat).
* This is a safety-sensitive position.
