We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer who is comfortable working across the full network stack and be involved in both Project and BAU work within the network domain. About the Role The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and operations of core network infrastructure across the Maples group. The Senior Network Engineer will work closely with stakeholders in all geographies in order to identify, recommend, develop and implement cost-effective solutions for all aspects of the network domain. The role is primarily 09:00 to 17:30 but the Senior Network Engineer will be required to work outside of these hours to accommodate the needs of the business, particularly on weekends. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Manage, monitor and maintain the network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls and load balancer • Work with IT Managers, Project Managers, Business Analysts and members of the global information technology team to deliver the network components required to facilitate new initiatives in a timely manner • Automation of repeatable processes • Analyse network incidents, assess severity and impact, perform root cause analysis and remediate • Creation of documentation, including Wikis, SOPs and auditing records • Provide design and support expertise for all aspects of the network domain • Manage patches and upgrades to the network infrastructure • Work with third party vendors to maintain the network domain EXPERIENCE What You Bring In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following: • Proven experience in network analysis and design • Deep technical knowledge of LAN technologies: VLANs, Spanning Tree (CST, RSTP, MST), QoS, Layer 2/3 design, FHRPs (HSRP, VRRP, GLBP) • Strong technical knowledge of Routing technologies: OSPF, BGP, Redistribution, Policy-Based Routing (PBR) • Expertise in Firewall technologies: NAT, ACLs, service inspection, multi-context environments, RADIUS/TACACS, VPN, Web Application Firewalls (WAFs) • Strong technical knowledge of Load Balancing technologies, particularly Citrix Netscalers • Hands-on experience with Netskope Proxy or similar • Proficiency in Wireless technologies, especially Cisco Meraki • Solid understanding of DHCP and DNS services • Experience with Cisco Nexus, Catalyst, and Firepower platforms • Relevant qualifications and industry certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, NSE, etc.) • Ability to work collaboratively in a high-performing team • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines • Excellent communication skills • Flexibility to work outside of standard office hours when required • Exposure to SD-WAN including Fortigate • Familiarity with VMware NSX-T • Experience with SolarWinds monitoring and management tools • Exposure to Cloudflare WAF and Load Balancing • Proven track record of delivering network solutions across multiple geographies • Previous experience in Financial Services or Law Firm environments BENEFITS & REWARDS The most enduring professional relationships are reciprocal relationships.
