Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within HMP Inverness as we recruit for a Maintenance Engineer – Plumber to join the Estates Team. The post holder will support the SPS Maintenance Team in all aspects of Estates work, delivering preventative and reactive maintenance activities on plumbing and fitting works, including but not limited to legionella controls, heating and ventilation systems.
Location - HMP Inverness and will transfer to the new HMP Highland on opening
Responsibilities
* Deliver preventative and reactive maintenance on plumbing and fitting works in an industrial/commercial environment.
* Carry out legionella controls, heating and ventilation system maintenance.
* Attend on-call hours as required (allowance provided).
* Be able to attend home establishment within 1 hour; full UK driving licence preferred. SPS may consider other duty arrangements proposed by applicants.
Qualifications and Experience
* Served a recognised apprenticeship in heating, plumbing or mechanical discipline to SVQ level 3, evidenced through formal certification (Essential).
* Experience of mechanical services, plumbing and heating services maintenance in an industrial/commercial environment (Essential).
* Awareness of other basic maintenance and repair tasks (e.g., electrical and building works) or willingness to develop these skills (Essential).
* Sound knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation, Risk Assessments, Method Statements (Safe Systems of Work), Legionella and control measures (Essential).
* Ability to interpret drawings, instructions and specifications (Essential).
