We are seeking a proactive and reliable Assistant Site Manager to join a dedicated site and facilities team within a thriving secondary school in Bilston, Wolverhampton. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining safe, well-presented environments that support high-quality learning for students and staff.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day running, maintenance, and security of the school site. You will work closely with the Site Manager and wider leadership team to ensure the school facilities are maintained to a high standard and remain a safe and welcoming environment for the whole school community.
We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong practical skills, and a commitment to supporting the school’s mission of improving outcomes for young people.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the management and maintenance of the school buildings and grounds
* Assist with site security, including opening and closing the premises
* Carry out general repairs, maintenance tasks, and minor refurbishment work
* Ensure health and safety standards are maintained across the site
* Support contractors working onsite and ensure compliance with safety regulations
* Assist with preparing the school site for events and daily operations
* Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors

About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* Previous experience in site management, maintenance, or facilities work (ideally within a school or similar environment)
* Good practical and DIY skills
* Knowledge of health and safety procedures
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team
* A commitment to maintaining a safe and high-quality environment for students and staff
