Service: Multi‑Speciality Theatres | 24/7 Service Provision (Including Nights, Weekends & Bank Holidays)
Are you an experienced and motivated Scrub Practitioner looking for a new challenge? Our dynamic Operating Theatres team is expanding, and we are seeking skilled practitioners to support the delivery and transformation of our Emergency and Vascular surgical services, as well as a wide range of additional specialities.
As a key member of our multidisciplinary theatre team, you will:
* Work within a 24‑hour, 7‑day theatre service, participating in night shifts, weekend rotas, and bank holiday coverage.
* Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, and wider teams to ensure seamless, patient‑centred care.
* Demonstrate clinical competence, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
* Are a Registered Nurse (RN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP).
* Has scrub experience within acute or emergency surgical settings.
* Works well under pressure and enjoys being part of a supportive, inclusive team.
Qualifications
* NMC registered Nurse (Advanced Diploma/Degree in Adult Health Nursing) or HCPC registered ODP (Dip (HE) Operating Department Practice)
Experience
* Leadership Ability to work in Scrub
* Experience of working within UK guidance, regulations and procedures
* Relevant experience in scrub working in emergency surgery
Technical skills
* Able to work unsupervised and on own initiative
* Able to integrate and work within the MDT
* Supportive of staff/team members
* Able to communicate effectively in an MDT
Knowledge
* Working knowledge of basic operating department routine and surgical specialties undertaken
* Understanding of the surgical patient pathway through the hospital
Other requirements
* Flexible working pattern to meet demands of the service
