Principal Developer (C# and Azure Development) role at Fundacion Nuestros Hijos. Location: Manchester, UK. Employment type: Full-time (35 hours per week) with flexible hybrid working, based in our Manchester office.

Role
The Principal Developer is a senior technical leader responsible for driving the architectural direction, design, and development of complex software systems. This role leads high-level projects, makes strategic decisions regarding technology stacks, and ensures the scalability, maintainability, and performance of applications. It involves close collaboration with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives. This position also performs important team leadership, primarily guiding engineers and developers within the development function.

Qualifications and Experience
* Education to degree level or higher in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Experience working within development teams
* Experience with Agile and traditional Waterfall development methodologies
* Proven ability to work in ambiguous and fast-paced environments
* Working knowledge of travel industry technologies (e.g., booking tools and GDS)
* Experience developing software in the entertainment industry
* Strong technical awareness and collaborative, pragmatic approach
* Ability to lead multiple projects and manage staff teams
* Ability to distribute workloads, delegate, and balance independent work with teamwork
* Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
* Fluent practical experience with C# and Azure Development

* C# Development, .NET Core/.NET Framework
* Object-oriented and SOA design patterns
* Azure: APIM with policies, caching and security; Azure Functions
* Azure AI Search, indexing and API usage
* Azure Blob and Table Storage via REST APIs
* Azure AD and Graph API integration
* Azure Cosmos DB
* Azure best practice architecture patterns
* Data sources via ODBC, RESTful API, or message-based architectures
* Relational and non-relational databases and ORMs (e.g., Entity Framework)
* DevOps, CI/CD, and unit testing
* Testing frameworks (xUnit, NUnit, MSTest); broader tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Docker, Postman
* GitHub or similar
* Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes
* Relevant Microsoft Certifications
The Where and When
This is a full-time role based in Manchester with a flexible hybrid approach to working. You will report to the Engineering Manager in Manchester and may collaborate with regional teams in the US, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand.
