DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES | About the role
In this role, you will support the day‑to‑day running of our internal systems and help maintain the technology that keeps the business operating smoothly.
You'll assist with hardware and software maintenance, security tasks, and responding to support requests from colleagues and external support services.
You will gain hands‑on experience across a wide range of technical activities while developing your problem‑solving and communication skills.
This apprenticeship provides structured learning time alongside practical, real‑world experience to help you build a strong foundation for a career in IT.
You will be supported by the Technology Operations Team and work under the guidance of the Technology Operations Manager EMEA, ensuring you receive the coaching and development needed to succeed.
As the Technology Operations Apprentice, you will:
* Provide support for both internal and external users, responding to enquiries and resolving technical issues.
* Provide technical support and assistance on internal infrastructure, hardware, and software.
* Collaborate with your colleagues to resolve a range of SOC generated alerts.
* Assist in the configuration, development life cycle, and maintenance of approved internal software.
* Troubleshoot and help avoid downtime on both the internal network, and internal website.
* Create and maintain clear documentation including IT processes, procedures, troubleshooting guides and team processes
* Participate in projects by contributing to the planning, testing, and implementation activities.
* Stay up to date on the latest Cyber Security and Information Technology news and trends to build your knowledge and support continuous improvement for yourself and the team.
* Any ad hoc duties as defined by your line manager
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE | About you
The ideal Technology Operations Apprentice will have:
* GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including Mathematics, English, and preferably Science or Computing.
* A-levels (or equivalent Level 3 qualifications) in relevant subjects, such as IT, Computing, Mathematics, or Science.
* Alternatively, a Level 3 apprenticeship in a related area or equivalent work experience in IT or security.
* Basic understanding of computer systems, networks and cyber security concepts.
* Familiarity with operating systems, such as Windows and Linux.
* Awareness of common cyber security threats (e.g., phishing, malware, ransomware).
* Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic IT issues.
* Basic proficiency in using Microsoft Suite & IT management tools.
* Clear communication, both written and verbal.
* Attention to detail.
