Job Title: Principal Hydrologist

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
This is a fantastic opportunity to join my client, an eco-conscious, market-leading Multidisciplinary Consultancy, renowned for delivering their expertise throughout the engineering and environmental landscapes, delivering major, exciting projects across the UK. They are currently looking for a talented, enthusiastic Principal Hydrologist, willing to lead a high-performing team and deliver on an extensive range of projects, whilst contributing to Business Development (BD) activities. You will be based near the cultural, richly-historic city of Exeter.

Responsibilities for the role of Principal Hydrologist include:
* Lead the preparation of technical documents for submission, to include Flood Risk Assessments (FRA), Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), etc.
* Manage projects, delivering them to schedule and within budget
* Liaise closely with a range of important clients and other stakeholders, such as the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities (LLFA), etc.
* Check and amend technical documents (e.g., models, calculations, reports, etc.) prepared by colleagues
* Actively identify and contribute to Business Development opportunities and activities
* Manage and mentor other hydrological colleagues
Required skills and experience for the role of Principal Hydrologist include:
* A UK Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or similar
* Chartered Status with a relevant, recognised Professional Body (e.g., CIWEM, etc.)
* Extensive experience of working in a hydrological role, within a UK-based consultancy (or Local Authority) setting
* Excellent proficiency in the use of relevant software systems, including FEH, WINFAP, Flood Modeller, HEC-RAS, WinDES, and AutoCAD
* Outstanding communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and organisational skills
* Technically-minded with excellent report-writing skills
Desirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Hydrologist include:
* An advanced qualification in a relevant discipline
* Hold a full, valid UK Driving Licence
