The successful candidate will be expected to rotate from day to night duty. Responsibilities include providing excellent standards of nursing care to complex respiratory patients with conditions such as COPD, Asthma, chest drain/pleural management for pneumothorax and pleural effusions, tracheostomies, and PE’s. Supporting patients through cancer diagnosis and managing symptoms, NIV/Bipap care, while maintaining high standards of documentation and communication.
The candidate should be driven to develop new skills and knowledge, always keeping the patient at the center of their practice. They must be positive role models and lead by example. Excellent communication skills, flexibility, teamwork, and a strong commitment to ensuring a positive hospital experience for patients and their relatives/carers are essential.
Main duties include delivering holistic care to acutely unwell patients and those with chronic respiratory illnesses, managing long-term conditions, facilitating patient discharge, and ensuring patient flow within the trust. Good organizational skills are necessary to support these duties, along with timely recording of observations and appropriate escalation.
