Role Overview
As a member of the air quality team you will work on a variety of projects undertaking surveys, modelling and assessment to determine the potential air quality effects of new developments – from new housing schemes and industrial or commercial developments to educational facilities. Projects range from small‑scale developments to major infrastructure and construction sites, aiming to protect existing residents, future residents of proposed schemes, and sensitive ecological species that may be affected by air pollution. In addition to producing air quality assessments, you may be required to complete environmental surveys with occasional overnight stays and weekend work.

* Follows up on work assigned even if completed by others.
* Conforms to CDOP, policies and NALO procedures (including essential tasks such as timesheet completion) and promotes compliance to others.
* Follows relevant policies and procedures.
* Principal‑level position: review of assessment work completed by the team for quality assurance, and project and line management responsibilities.
Qualifications & Experience
* Must be degree qualified (or equivalent) and be able to provide examples of your skills and previous experience working in air quality consultancy.
* Experience using ADMS Roads modelling software.
* Experience using AERMOD software preferred but not essential.
* Experience using GIS software preferred but not essential.
* Project management experience.
* Line management experience preferred but not essential.
* Experience undertaking peer reviews of survey, assessment and reporting work completed by others for quality assurance purposes.
* Experience of undertaking collaborative work, including dealing directly with clients and other external organisations.
* Must have good geospatial interpretation ability to locate precise points on surveys.
* Must be willing to work flexibly to tight timescales.
* Able to use technical equipment in the field with minimum supervision.
* A full manual UK driving licence is essential.
* Follows relevant policies and procedures.
