Assistant Public Rights of Way Officer

Worcestershire County Council

Salary: £24,976 - £26,621 per annum

35 Hours per Week

Location: Worcester

Team: Public Rights of Way

Contract: Permanent


The Role

The Public Rights of Way Operations Team is seeking an enthusiastic professional to contribute to the management of our Public Rights of Way network.

We offer an interesting and varied post in which, working closely with and being mentored by others, you will be responsible for ensuring the public rights of way network are properly maintained. No two days are the same and the role suits people who enjoy a mix of outdoor, desk‑based and practical work while working with a variety of different people.

You will carry out inspections of public rights of way in response to problems reported by the public, and draw up schedules of work to be carried out by contractors. You will be responsible for instructing and checking work carried out by contractors as well as landowners. You will also work with a network of voluntary path wardens and supervise their work.

Qualifications: Basic knowledge of Public Rights of Way, ability to effectively manage a very busy workload, work to strict deadlines, and have very good communication skills.

Hybrid and mobile working arrangements. Based in Worcester but regular travel throughout the County is required.
