About the Role
The Science Teacher will deliver engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable), helping students develop strong scientific knowledge, investigative skills and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Working closely with the Head of Department and wider teaching team, you will contribute to curriculum development, STEM enrichment opportunities and whole-school initiatives that promote curiosity, critical thinking and academic success.

Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities
* Teach Science across KS3–KS4 (KS5 desirable), specialising in Biology, Chemistry or Physics
* Prepare students effectively for GCSE examinations and practical assessments
* Differentiate learning to support SEND, EAL and high-attaining pupils
* Use formative and summative assessment to monitor progress and inform teaching
* Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement in line with school policy
* Contribute to curriculum planning, departmental meetings and moderation processes
* Support extracurricular activities such as STEM clubs, science fairs or enrichment projects
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress
* Uphold safeguarding, equality and school policies at all times

The Ideal Candidate
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting
* Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry or Physics
* Excellent classroom management and behaviour strategies
* Ability to motivate, challenge and inspire learners
* Skilled in using assessment data to raise attainment
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
* Legal right to work in the UK
