I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a global full-service clinical Contract Research Organization with a strong culture and excellent proposition. This newly created role involves working with a high-performance global team. The CRO has a solid reputation with stable clients and a consistent growth record. You will be supported by a respected commercial team and top clinical experts, joining an organization with a collaborative culture.
This is an individual sales contributor role, remote, working from home, focusing on the UK/western European territory. Responsibilities include securing new business and managing accounts within pharma, biotech, and medical device sectors across various therapeutic areas such as oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. Success requires a hunter mentality, a strong network, and a proven sales track record in this region, selling full CRO services.
Your role will involve:
* Achieving sales and business development targets.
* Developing and implementing business strategies for target markets.
* Prospecting to build a sales pipeline and generate RFPs from qualified potential clients.
* Using Salesforce to track client activities and opportunities.
* Managing the sales process from leads to closure.
* Leading proposal development to meet client expectations.
* Redefining profitable market niches based on evidence.
* Supporting marketing strategies to aid business development.
* Contributing to sales targets, strategies, and plans based on industry knowledge.
* Supporting pre-sales activities with resources.
* Engaging with agents and consultants in other regions.
* Collaborating with research staff to maximize selling opportunities.
* Attending conferences and trade shows to generate business opportunities.
