Shift Pattern: 32 hours per week, working between 9:00pm and 7:00am on a rotational basis across Monday to Sunday

Our dedicated in-house Emergency Call Handlers and Mobile Response Team ensure we deliver exceptional service around the clock.

About the Role

At Careium UK, your work has purpose and impact. As an Emergency Call Handler on our overnight team in Blackburn, you’ll play a key role in supporting vulnerable individuals by delivering a high-quality telecare and telephone response service. Every call you handle will make a difference.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Managing emergencies: Responding swiftly and appropriately to emergency situations by contacting next of kin, emergency services, or other support.
2. Call documentation: Accurately recording call details using our internal systems.
3. Crisis response: Acting quickly and calmly in traumatic or life-threatening situations.
4. Customer guidance: Assisting clients with basic troubleshooting of alarm and GPS-enabled devices, and escalating where necessary.
5. Alarm monitoring: Responding to automatic alerts and addressing technical issues such as power or battery failures.

What We’re Looking For

6. High-volume experience: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-contact environment.
7. Professional and empathetic: A confident, patient, and caring telephone manner.
8. Customer-focused: Ideally, experience in a customer service or care-related role.
9. Tech-savvy: Proficient in using multiple systems and Microsoft Office packages.
10. Adaptable: Open to change and comfortable with new technologies.
11. Detail-oriented: Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
12. Multitasker: Able to manage multiple tasks and think critically under pressure.
