About the Role We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to join a major UK Government Department on a high-profile programme. This role requires someone who can take a strategic view across multiple software systems and business processes, identify interdependencies, and design high-level software solutions that align with organisational objectives. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain solution architectures across complex business and technology landscapes. Analyse existing systems and processes to identify integration points and dependencies. Design high-level software solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles. Lead on architecture governance, ensuring compliance with standards and best practices. Engage and influence senior stakeholders, providing clear architectural guidance and recommendations. Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure solutions are implemented effectively. Ensure designs adhere to GDS (Government Digital Service) guidelines and security requirements. Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience as a Solutions Architect within large-scale, complex environments. Strong background in software solutions architecture (not network/infrastructure). Demonstrable experience in architecture governance and stakeholder management at senior levels. Ability to work across multiple systems and business processes, designing integrated solutions. Familiarity with GDS guidelines and UK Government standards (highly desirable). Excellent communication and influencing skills. Additional Requirements Willingness and ability to travel to client sites as required (Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle). SC Clearance: Active preferred; SC Eligible mandatory with residency requirements met.
