Our Commercial & Industrial division designs, fabricates and constructs structural steelwork for a variety of sectors including commercial offices, stadia & leisure, industrial & distribution, data centres, retail and health and education. The division has manufacturing sites in Dalton, Lostock, and Enniskillen, with full-service capabilities and modern manufacturing processes to provide a high-quality product to a variety of sectors. Each site has a strong market reputation and, together, cover a wider geographical area, including Europe. They continue to set the bar high in their highly complex market!
Responsibilities
* As a Maintenance Engineer, your main responsibility will be carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of plant and machinery, with a focus on electrical systems. You\'ll work closely with the production team to coordinate planned downtime and ensure that resources are allocated effectively.
* To be successful in this role, you’ll need to understand both the electrical and mechanical aspects of the equipment and how each plays a role in the production process. Your insights and recommendations will help reduce downtime and drive improvements to our maintenance practices.
* Health and Safety is central to this role—whether you\'re isolating machinery, completing permits to work, re-commissioning equipment after electrical repairs, or identifying parts to keep everything operating smoothly.
* To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (preferably with an electrical focus) or be time-served with both electrical and mechanical experience. Ideally, you’ll have at least 3 years’ experience maintaining equipment such as overhead cranes, CNC machines, and carrying out both planned and reactive electrical maintenance.
