Flexible Teaching Roles in SEMH Settings - Bristol
Tradewind Recruitment partners with a wide range of specialist schools and alternative provisions that support children and young people with complex needs. We are committed to placing skilled, empathetic teachers into environments where they can truly make a difference, while offering the flexibility many educators are seeking.
We are currently recruiting qualified teachers (QTS, QTLS or equivalent) to work flexibly across SEMH and specialist provisions in the Bristol area. These opportunities are well suited to teachers who prefer supply, part-time, short-term or ongoing flexible work rather than a permanent full-time post.
The Role
Working as a SEMH Teacher, you will support pupils in small class groups or on a 1:1 basis. Students may present with a range of needs, including:
Social, emotional and mental health needs
Trauma and attachment difficulties
Anxiety, emotionally based school avoidance or disengagement
Behaviour that challenges
Autism, ADHD and additional learning needsTeaching typically takes place within a nurture-led or alternative learning environment, where emotional wellbeing and relationship-building are prioritised alongside academic progress. Lessons are adapted and personalised, often moving away from a traditional classroom approach.
You may deliver core subjects, targeted interventions or creative, project-based learning, supported by experienced support staff such as LSAs and behaviour specialists. Strong behaviour management, emotional regulation strategies and a relational approach are central to the role.
This Role Would Suit Teachers Who:
Hold a recognised UK teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS or equivalent)
Have experience in SEMH, PRU, alternative provision or inclusive education - or a genuine interest in moving into this area
Are confident differentiating learning for pupils with complex needs
Use calm, consistent and restorative behaviour approaches
Are patient, resilient and emotionally aware
Value flexibility and choice in their working patternApplications are welcomed from both primary and secondary trained teachers.
