Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Staffing Coordinator to join our Temporary Staffing Team at North Bristol NHS Trust. This role supports all clinical and non‑clinical functions within the Bristol Hospital Group and involves shift work across a 7‑day week between 06:30 and 20:00, including bank holidays and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for temporary workers, hiring managers, matrons, department heads and divisional heads of nursing across the Trust via telephone and email.
* Manage service inboxes on a rotational basis, providing a prompt and professional response to banking workforce and stakeholders.
* Maintain strong communication channels with various wards and departments throughout the Trust.
* Maintain relationships with agencies, liaising daily to allocate unfilled bank duties as required.
* Receive and process booking requests from wards and departments to fill temporary gaps in staffing.
* Ensure all booking and cancellation information is accurate and kept up to date.
* Provide basic advice to callers about recruitment, cancellation and pay issues.
* Attend regular team meetings to review service delivery and contribute ideas for improvement.
* Use tact and persuasion to fill bank shifts and manage staff movement in coordination with wards or clinical site teams.
* Relay skill and qualification requirements for assignments professionally to bank staff and external agency suppliers.
* Implement Trust policies and protocols relating to bank and agency controls.
Ideal Candidate
* Strong communication skills and the ability to confidently communicate with key stakeholders.
* Previous call centre experience is an advantage.
* Ideal experience working in an NHS setting, although not essential.
* Flexible working approach and willingness to work across a 7‑day week.
* Experience of working in an office setting.
* Good understanding of IT packages and systems.
Person Specification
* Business Admin qualification or equivalent experience.
