Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 female Personal Assistants to provide support to a lady who is a wheelchair user with daily living and to access the local community. No lifting will be required for this person.
Responsibilities
* Morning support: getting up, dressed and being present around the person when in the shower; possible meal preparation and domestic support such as light cleaning; support with paperwork and online ordering; no toileting needs required.
* Outings (additional hours available if requested): assisting with getting in and out of a specialised wheelchair accessible hatchback car when necessary, going shopping and local outings.
* Evening support: getting ready for bed and light cleaning tasks.
Schedule
* Morning hours: 8.30 to 10.00am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with potential for more days by agreement.
* Evening hours: 8.30pm to 9.00 or 9.30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, by agreement of the applicant.
Qualifications and attributes
* Cheerful with a sense of humour, common sense, ability to problem solve and initiative to complete tasks as needed.
* Previous experience is not required as training will be provided; a positive attitude and good work ethic are essential.
* Basic computer and internet skills would be helpful for the morning position.
* A car driver is preferred; if the applicant is a driver, a full clean licence is required.
Benefits and pay
* Hourly rate of £15 plus 5.6 weeks paid annual leave and a workplace pension scheme available.
