Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and compassionate Band 5 Nurse to join Aberdeenshire Drug & Alcohol Services, supporting the delivery of a Blood Borne Virus (BBV) service to individuals affected by substance use. This post is fixed for 1 year.
Responsibilities
* Improve access to BBV screening, prevention, treatment and care for individuals who use drugs and alcohol, aligning with national priorities including Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Standards and Scotland’s “Preventing Harm, Promoting Recovery” Strategy (2026–2035).
* Support established teams and work in partnership with other providers and agencies within North Aberdeenshire to deliver recovery orientated community drug/alcohol treatment to clients recovering from addiction.
Qualifications
* High motivation, excellent communication and team working skills.
* Some experience of working with people with drug or alcohol problems.
* Ready to provide a high standard of care when addressing substance use issues.
