Sulzer is trusted across the UK rail sector to overhaul, repair and extend the life of traction motors and associated equipment. Our work ensures rolling stock stays compliant, reliable and in service longer.We’re now looking for a **Technical Focal Point** with strong **DC Traction Motor expertise** to take technical ownership of overhaul projects and act as the crucial bridge between our customers and our production floor.**Your key responsibilities will include:*** Acting as the primary technical interface between customers and the workshop* Managing the full technical lifecycle of DC Traction Motor overhaul projects — from strip & survey and inspection, through repair strategy, to final testing and delivery* Interpreting inspection findings and determining technically sound repair solutions* Supporting the preparation of technical information for bids and tenders, ensuring proposals are robust, accurate and technically credible* Translating complex engineering detail into clear, confident communication for customers* Act in a customer‐facing technical role that helps drive order intake, offering confidence in Sulzer’s engineering capability and solutionsYou won’t be on the tools day‐to‐day — instead, you’ll provide technical oversight, direction and ownership, ensuring every decision stands up to scrutiny.**What we’re looking for**Rail experience is helpful — but it’s not essential.
