What You’ll Do
Due to growth in current gen and future gen platforms within the Actuation area we have an exciting opportunity for a Delivery Project Manager. This role reports to the IPT Programme Manager and will liaise with customers and stakeholders across the business to deliver defined projects across development, production and aftermarket areas, for complex Aerospace sub systems.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Ownership of a portfolio of production, in-service and improvement projects relating to aerospace products currently supplied to multiple user aircraft.
* Responsible for applying best practice project management techniques to ensure delivery to time & cost for allocated projects of an agreed scope.
* Act as the primary project management PoC for at least one of the IPTs major customers
* Provide customer and internal summary reporting to a defined cadence, present and interpret information from multiple ‘Business as Usual’ sources as well as project data.
* Work closely with production Delivery managers, Programme manager and other stakeholders to identify and manage risk to customer production delivery in the medium term (6-24 month window)
* Support the production SIOP process for capacity planning on a 2 year window
* Facilitate resolution of escalated issues from Operations, Customer Account and Procurement stakeholders through controlled planning and execution of new projects or work packages.
* Support identification of new opportunities to improve customer service or experience; this includes working with bid managers & processes where additional customer funding may be available.
* Support Programme and Engineering managers to draw individual projects or work packages into efficient work streams, considering for example shared dependencies or synergy.
* Ownership of costed and resource loaded schedules for allocated projects; working closely with PMO planners to ensure the schedules remain realistic and support overall programme aims.
* Responsible for applying Eaton project governance processes, including project lifecycle gate reviews and supporting technical design reviews from a project management perspective.
Qualifications
* Degree plus ideally 5 years experience of managing projects
Skills
* Able to take corporate or ‘global’ view and deal with senior stakeholders
* Experience of managing multiple projects comprising similar functions and technology, with proven delivery track record
* An ability to coach junior project managers and increase their efficiency and effectiveness
* Commercially and contractually aware
* Track record of building and maintaining excellent relationships
* Strong knowledge of the functional disciplines and supply chain that require management
* Leadership & communication – clear direction, guidance and motivation to team
* Priority & workload management - goal orientation balancing task, team and individual
* Problem solving skills - able to deal with ambiguities, uncertainties & conflicts
* Knowledge of project finances
* Risk management – mitigate risks, identify opportunities to increase revenue/margin
* Customer orientation and interface
* Knowledge of aerospace industry and Eaton products
* Project performance management – KPIs, metrics
* Willingness to develop
* Qualified to deliver large and complex projects in a production environment
* Knowledge and demonstrable experience in PPM techniques
* Extensive knowledge of MS Office – particularly MS Project
