About Our Client
Our client is based in Southampton, and due to a busy period and various ongoing projects the accountancy team is looking for additional support.
Job Description
3. Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate coding and entry into the system.
4. Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
5. Prepare and process payment runs, including BACs and cheque payments.
6. Maintain accurate records of transactions and update the accounting system regularly.
7. Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to address queries and ensure timely resolution.
8. Assist with month-end closing tasks, including accruals and prepayments.
9. Support the wider Accounting & Finance team with ad-hoc administrative tasks.
10. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures throughout the accounts payable process.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Accounts Payable Clerk should have:
11. A strong understanding of accounts payable processes and procedures.
12. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
13. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
14. A proactive approach to problem-solving and query resolution.
15. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
16. Strong communication skills to liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
