Role Overview
Based within the School of Engineering at the University of Greenwich, this post will contribute to the delivery, enhancement and future development of our Electrical and Electronic Engineering portfolio. Operating across campuses in Greenwich and Medway, the School provides a dynamic environment for teaching, research and enterprise. This role is primarily based at the Medway campus and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-quality teaching, applied research and enterprise activity across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, while helping to shape an innovative and industry-relevant learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the delivery, enhancement, and future development of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering portfolio across campuses, with a primary focus on the Medway campus.
* Provide high-quality teaching, including the design and delivery of laboratory-based teaching and hands‑on learning activities.
* Develop and support the PLC and automation laboratory, particularly with our new Siemens PLC laboratory.
* Support student experience, external engagement and applied research, ensuring programmes meet the requirements of relevant PSRBs.
* Contribute to the University’s performance in REF, TEF and KEF, and uphold a commitment to student satisfaction and success.
Qualifications
* PhD in a relevant area, or equivalent professional experience, is essential.
* Strong theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in electrical and electronic engineering.
* Experience in higher education teaching or industry-led training.
* Knowledge of professional standards and accreditation requirements.
* Commitment to student satisfaction and success.
* Experience with PLCs, automation and Siemens platforms is advantageous.
