About the Role
The North Yorkshire and York Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) Eating Disorders Home Treatment Team are looking for a Community Support Worker/Trainee to join the team. The post holder will provide community, hospital and home visits delivering home treatment interventions such as meal supports and observed meals, and will be involved in goal setting and review, working alongside the Eating Disorder multi‑disciplinary clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide home treatment interventions (meal supports, observed meals)
* Assist with goal setting and review of treatment plans
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary clinical team
* Travel to family homes, clinic bases and paediatric settings across the local area
* Work independently under clinical direction and support a 24‑hour service (8 am‑8 pm, seven days a week)
Working Hours
Service covers 8 am to 8 pm across seven days a week; the successful candidate will need to be flexible and self‑motivated for a fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications
* Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 or equivalent
* Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent
* Completion of Trust Healthcare Assistant competencies within the first six months
Training Pathway for Non‑Qualifying Candidates
Applicants without the required qualifications are expected to enrol on the Healthcare Assistant Framework, which includes acquiring the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care, Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy (or equivalent) and achieving the necessary competencies. A maximum of two years is available to complete these requirements.
Travel and Vehicle Requirements
Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be able to travel independently across the local area and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. Adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

Start Dates
The Trust offers two start dates per month, on the 1st and 3rd Mondays.
