Overview
You will be working as an Electronics Engineer, Systems Engineer / Project Engineer in our embedded computing division at our Wokingham office near Reading. The role focuses on embedded systems design & project engineering for blue‑chip clients across renewable energy, security, medical, transportation, aerospace and defence industries.
The position is integral to the Embedded Computing Technical Centre, where you will collaborate with internal teams, external designers, suppliers, test houses and business partners to deliver high‑quality, revenue‑driving projects.
Responsibilities
* Support the sales team in delivering custom design‑in solutions.
* Develop strong relationships with key supplier partners, customers, and the field sales team.
* Support technical and mechanical design‑in of custom solutions.
* Resolve pre‑ and post‑sales technical and mechanical enquiries.
* Provide broad experience in electronics/mechanical design and testing.
* Lead high‑level design through to detailed design of electronic circuits.
Qualifications
* Degree, HND, HNC (or equivalent) in electronics engineering.
* 3‑5+ years of industrial experience.
* Broad system design experience through to electronic circuit design/definition.
* Knowledge of mechanical design and component integration.
* Documentation, definition, development and optimisation processes.
* Experience with industry‑leading design software.
* UK passport holder (required for MOD contracts).
Additional Knowledge/Skills
* Support the Technical Manager throughout the bid process (Industrial/Defence).
* Deliver customer design projects from specification to production.
* Embedded computing, component selection, EMC/environmental testing and CE marking regulations.
* Electronic circuit design (PCB, PCBA, BOM, layouts).
* Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
