Overview
We are seeking to appoint a skilled Mechanical Engineer to maintain, test, and improve mechanical systems and devices within our plant. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of mechanical systems, and a passion for innovation and improvement in engineering processes
Knowledge and Experience
* Boiler / steam systems.
* Industrial building services (sprinkler systems, CHP, process cooling and heating).
* Hydraulics systems.
* Pneumatic systems.
* Highbay racking.
* Conveyor systems.
Responsibilities
* Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems and machinery, including bearings, shafts, hydraulics, pneumatics, boiler and plant equipment.
* Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in production machinery, including high-speed machines, conveyors, and other automated systems.
* Respond quickly to mechanical breakdowns to minimize downtime and ensure production targets are met.
* Support automation and control system enhancements to increase system reliability and production throughput.
* Ensure all mechanical systems comply with safety standards and industry regulations (e.g., NFPA, NEC).
* Conduct regular inspections, risk assessments, and audits to ensure safe operation of mechanical equipment.
* Enforce safe working practices.
* Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to address technical challenges and improve the performance of manufacturing equipment.
* Maintain accurate records of all mechanical maintenance activities, including repairs, upgrades, and system performance.
* Generate and review reports on mechanical performance, system issues, and maintenance needs.
Your profile
You will be educated to HNC level and have a minimum of 3-5 years experience. Ideally with FLT and Cherry Picker Licence.

* Problem Solving and Analytical Skills: Strong troubleshooting abilities in order to quickly resolve mechanical and control system issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
* Strong self-starter capable of independent learning and desire to learn and develop.
* Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with production teams and other engineering staff.
* Ability to document and explain technical information to non-technical personnel.
* Ability to ensure adherence to safety protocols and best practices in mechanical maintenance.
