About the Role
The School of Anthropology & Museum Ethnography (SAME) is seeking a motivated and organised Student Administration Officer to join its Academic Administration team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the smooth delivery of teaching, admissions, and student support within a busy and internationally recognised academic department.
As Student Administration Officer, you will provide high-quality administrative support across a broad range of teaching and student administration activities. Working closely with the Graduate Programme Coordinator and wider administration team, you will help ensure the effective day-to-day running of the School's academic operations and contribute to a positive student experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Support teaching activities, including lecture and seminar set-up, room bookings, timetable coordination, and event administration.
* Maintain accurate student records and databases, respond to student enquiries, and liaise with academic staff and central University services to support a wide range of administrative processes.
* Assist with graduate admissions activity, including application administration and contributing to outreach and access initiatives.
* Provide wider operational support for the School, including reception cover, room preparation, and assistance with academic and student events as required.
Qualifications & Skills
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload effectively within a fast‑paced environment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence working with students, academic staff, and professional services colleagues at all levels.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in administrative work, particularly when maintaining records and handling enquiries.
* Proactive, reliable, able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* Previous experience in administration or within a higher education environment would be advantageous, though not essential.
