You're a Principal Fire Engineer who wants to lead at scale-across complex projects, client relationships, and the direction of a growing team. At Stantec, you'll join an expanding Fire Engineering capability within our Buildings business, working nationally from any of our UK offices. This is a role where you'll combine technical authority with leadership, shaping how fire engineering is delivered within a multidisciplinary environment and contributing to the continued growth of the service. ABOUT THE ROLE You will lead the delivery of fire engineering strategies across a diverse portfolio, from concept design through to construction and handover. This includes both performance-based and code-compliant approaches, ensuring solutions are technically robust, coordinated, and aligned with regulatory requirements. You'll act as a senior technical authority, overseeing modelling inputs and guiding design teams while maintaining high standards across all outputs. You'll work closely with other disciplines to integrate fire engineering into wider project delivery, ensuring a joined-up approach across architecture, MEP, structural, and environmental teams. Alongside technical leadership, you'll take ownership of client relationships-leading meetings, advising on strategy, and supporting successful project outcomes. You'll also contribute to business growth through work-winning activity, including bids, proposals, and identifying opportunities to expand the service offering. Internally, you'll play a key role in developing people-mentoring engineers, supporting progression toward chartership, and contributing to technical standards and thought leadership across the team. YOUR IMPACT You'll shape how complex buildings are designed and delivered, helping clients navigate fire safety requirements with solutions that are both technically rigorous and practical to implement. Your work will directly contribute to safer, more resilient buildings across multiple sectors. Beyond individual projects, your impact will extend to the growth and capability of the team. You'll influence how fire engineering is delivered across the business, support the development of engineers, and contribute to building a strong, consistent, and forward-looking service offering.
