In this hybrid role based in Birchwood Park, Warrington (WA36XG), you’ll support seamless payroll operations for around 670 employees across the UK and Ireland — ensuring everyone is paid accurately, on time, and with care.
What you'll be doing
1. Accurately maintain and process high-volume payroll records in line with UK payroll legislation.
2. Manage statutory payments such as PAYE, SSP, SMP, and pensions (including auto-enrolment).
3. Support new starters and leavers, ensuring a smooth onboarding and offboarding payroll experience.
4. Reconcile and process payments to HMRC, pension providers, and benefits partners.
5. Handle employee queries with professionalism and empathy via the payroll inbox.
6. Work closely with teams across HR and Finance to support knowledge-sharing and process improvement.
7. Contribute to payroll-related projects, systems enhancements, and automation initiatives.
What you’ll bring
8. Experience in payroll operations (e.g. Payroll Assistant, Payroll Administrator, Coordinator, etc.).
9. Confidence managing high-volume payroll with tight deadlines.
10. Sound understanding of UK payroll legislation, tax codes, and statutory requirements.
11. Experience with payroll and HR systems — Workday and ADP Celergo are a plus.
12. Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
13. A team-focused, approachable attitude and a commitment to confidentiality.
