A global organisation undergoing strategic transformation is seeking a Head of IT Projects to lead the delivery of its IT portfolio. This is a high-impact leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives on complexity, drives delivery excellence, and inspires teams across borders.

Salary: £125,000 (FTC 12 months, Inside IR35)
Hours: Full-Time (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
About the Role:
You’ll be accountable for the successful delivery of a diverse and complex IT portfolio, overseeing programmes that span multiple geographies and business units. You’ll lead a high-performing IT Projects team and mature the organisation’s PMO capability—enhancing governance, tools, processes, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Own and deliver the global IT portfolio, managing KPIs, risks, dependencies, budgets, and third-party relationships
Lead and evolve the IT Project Management Office, driving improvements in governance, reporting, and delivery frameworks
Ensure projects are delivered with predictability, quality, and financial control, while tracking benefit realisation
Conduct gateway reviews with senior leadership to validate business cases and rollout plans
Manage supplier performance and ensure alignment with strategic goals
Champion modern risk and opportunity management techniques across the portfolio
Coach and develop the IT Projects team, fostering innovation and excellence
Align IT initiatives with business priorities through proactive communication and continuous improvement
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience; ITIL and APM qualifications desirable
Proven success leading large, complex portfolios across global organisations
Deep knowledge of project governance, delivery methodologies (Agile, Lean, Hybrid), and stakeholder engagement
Strong command of project tools and techniques, with a hands-on approach to leadership
Exceptional communication, decision-making, and organisational skills
Ability to motivate and influence teams across multiple geographies
