Location: Gloucester, Gloucestershire
Hours: Full Time Permanent
Salary: 32,000 per annum
Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join a busy accounts team. The successful candidate will also provide valuable financial analysis and reporting to support future business decisions.
Key Responsibilities of a Credit Controller
* Manage the debt for a portfolio of business-to-business (B2B) customers.
* Ensure all customer account details are up to date and accurate.
* Develop and maintain strong B2B relationships with customers.
* Send copy documents to customers upon request.
* Release accounts from hold status once payments have been received.
* Handle customer communication professionally via phone and email.
* Communicate with sales representatives and other departments to resolve queries.
* Address customer complaints by gathering information and offering potential solutions.
* Open and close customer accounts as needed.
* Allocate payments and refunds on a daily basis.
* Release pro-forma orders following payment.
* Update ledgers with any pending on-hold queries.
* Perform account reconciliations.
* Submit monthly reports to the Accounts Manager regarding unpaid invoices.
Key Skills of a Credit Controller
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar credit control role.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Patience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Strong analytical skills with a thorough attention to detail.
* The ability to listen and negotiate effectively with customers.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* The ability to work well as part of a team.
