Kepak St. Merryn in Merthyr Tydfil has combined beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. We offer beef and lamb products ranging from retail-ready cuts for butchers’ counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers, and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef and lamb products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.
This position operates on a 3 days on, 3 days off schedule.
Working hours are from 6am to 6:30pm, with two 40-minute breaks. The hourly rate is £15.92.
Requirements
The role involves overseeing team activities and processes within the product staging and supply area. The candidate must consistently meet core metrics for safety, quality, people, delivery, and cost. Engaging and challenging support functions to facilitate the achievement of area targets is essential. The role supports the Staging and Supply Supervisor in achieving broader strategic targets of the retail area function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Building a safety culture that complies with standards and promotes proactive behaviors to eliminate hazards.
* Recording and reporting accidents or near misses, supporting investigations and corrective actions.
* Helping CPM Team Leaders reduce inefficiencies on their lines.
* Using Continuous Improvement (CI) methodology to identify and eliminate waste, and presenting area performance metrics and improvement actions.
* Utilizing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify and address excess costs.
* Supporting audits and managing preventative actions.
* Engaging support functions in departmental ambitions.

* Extensive knowledge and experience in warehouse control, processing, and operations are essential.
