Aldwark Manor Estate is a privately owned hotel with golf nestled in a picturesque village between York and Harrogate. Set in 200 acres of beautiful countryside, this luxury hotel offers a complete escape for both business and leisure guests and is a popular venue for weddings.
Over recent years, the hotel has undergone major renovations in bedrooms, restaurant, residents lounge, sports bar, and public areas. This year, we will be completing a new spa, leisure areas, conference rooms, and 24 additional bedrooms.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our team. This role is responsible for all operations in the Elements Restaurant, working with other chefs to deliver breakfast, lunch, and dinner in our 2 AA Rosette Restaurant.
Purpose of the role:
As a Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen and staff, especially in the absence of the Senior Sous Chef and Head Chef. You will direct kitchen activities, support food preparation and menu development, and ensure high standards of food quality and presentation. This role also involves supporting health and safety practices.
Main duties include:
* Controlling and directing food preparation processes.
* Managing and developing junior chefs.
* Food ordering to minimize waste.
* Menu development, requiring excellent cooking skills and understanding of produce, ingredients, and costs.
* Effective communication across various meetings and departments.
* Maintaining flexibility, calmness under pressure, and adaptability.
* Cleaning and organizing food prep areas.
* Ensuring compliance with due diligence tasks.
