AUTOMATIK VFX and THE POST REPUBLIC are London & Berlin-based VFX and Post Production studios, providing the full spectrum of digital image creation, image and sound post-production.
THE POST REPUBLIC specializes in delivering the best post-production solutions and facilities such as a digital on-set lab, editing, color grading, sound design, mixing, and digital delivery. Whilst AUTOMATIK VFX delivers best-in-class visual effects for high-end TV and features.
AUTOMATIK VFX and THE POST REPUBLIC operate from multiple studios under one mindset, both in London and Berlin. In London, we have two neighboring studios in Shoreditch, just 10 minutes from Old Street station. We hope you enjoy working here as much as we do!
Our Work
Operating mostly as the sole vendor, we cover everything from conceptual design pre-shoot, through post-vis to the final delivered VFX, the image and sound. Our creative team constantly pushes boundaries, creating extraordinary images and incredible creatures to rival the world’s largest VFX and post houses, capturing the imagination of global audiences.
We are an award-winning studio; we create outstanding and varied content for some of the biggest names in the global entertainment industry, including BBC, Disney+, Amazon Studios, Pandora Films, Paramount, and Sky, to name but a few.
The Job
The Junior Post Production Engineer assists in providing junior level support for all the technical operations of The Post Republic London, with a good understanding of the technical pipelines critical and Post Production. As such, you will need to stay current with industry standards and emerging technologies. You will provide foundational level technical support via our ticketing system, communicating by Slack and email, quickly and effectively responding to technical issues, and other queries. Where necessary, you will work closely with the IT team across London and Berlin to resolve any cross site technical problems. This may include providing desktop support for the Automatik VFX team as well. You will report to the London Head of IT (Jess Harris), but this is subject to change at the company’s discretion. In addition to your normal duties, you may be required to undertake other duties at the company’s discretion.
Experience, skills & attributes
● Experience providing 1st line support for Hardware and Software within Media and Entertainment
● Good understanding of post-production workflows, including video editing, colour grading, and visual effects
● Experience supporting a hybrid working environment whilst maintaining industry security standards
● Resourceful and proactive in gathering information, making a decision, and taking action
● Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment including remote members of the team
● Windows, Mac OS X, AVID, Baselight, Pro Tools and Linux desktop and server systems
● Quickly and methodically troubleshoots and solves problems
