Changing Young Lives, One Day at a Time

Wootton Park Bristol ( BS14 9AQ ) | 1-Bed Specialist Children’s Home
Kiwi Children’s Services

Do you believe every child deserves to feel safe, understood, and empowered to succeed?
Do you bring energy, creativity, and compassion — even when things get challenging?

If yes, this could be the role for you.

About Us

At Kiwi Children’s Services, we support children and young people with complex mental health, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Our small, specialist home offers a calm, nurturing environment where young people can stabilise, heal, and grow.

We work in a trauma-informed, child-centred way, offering specialist interventions, access to therapies, and high-quality support.

Our aim is simple but powerful: to help young people feel safe, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes for their future.

The Difference You’ll Make

As a Support Worker, you won’t just support routines — you’ll help change lives.

You’ll support young people to:

-Feel safe, heard, and valued
-Develop emotional regulation and resilience
-Build independence and life skills
-Re-engage with education and learning
-Improve relationships and self-esteem

Celebrate achievements — big and small

From cooking meals together, getting outdoors, playing sports, or being a calm and consistent adult during difficult moments - your presence will matter.

What the Role Looks Like

-Providing day-to-day care and emotional support
-Creating positive routines and meaningful experiences
-Supporting educational development and opportunities
-Acting as a key worker when required
-Contributing to care plans, reviews, and meetings
-Working collaboratively with therapists, schools, families, and professionals
-Being active, energetic, and child-focused — no two days are the same

Why You’ll Love This Job

Because this isn’t just a job — it’s a chance to make a real difference.

-You’ll see real outcomes
From improved emotional regulation to re-engagement with education or returning home — you’ll be part of life-changing progress.

-Small home, big impact
In a small home, you’ll have time to build genuine, trusting relationships with each young person.

-Every day is different
One day you’re cooking a favourite meal, the next you’re outdoors or celebrating a breakthrough moment.

-You’ll be supported, not just expected to cope
You’ll work within a reflective, supportive team with access to guidance, training, and therapeutic input.

-You’ll grow professionally
Develop skills in trauma-informed care, autism, mental health, and complex behaviours, with opportunities to progress.

-Your personality matters
Your humour, creativity, warmth, and compassion are encouraged — being yourself helps young people feel safe.

-The small wins mean everything
A calm conversation, a smile, a completed task — these moments make the work truly rewarding.

Who We’re Looking For: You don’t need to be perfect — you need to be patient, resilient, and genuinely caring.

You’ll ideally have:

-At least 12 months’ experience in a caring or support role
-Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (desirable)
-Full UK driving licence (preferred, not essential)
-Polish language skills (advantageous)

Most importantly, you’ll bring:

-Strong communication and listening skills
-The ability to stay calm and think on your feet
-Confidence to work independently and as part of a team
-Professionalism in reviews and multi-agency meetings
-The ability to engage, motivate, and inspire young people
-A belief that behaviour is communication and change is possible
