After the successful opening of our second outlet in Lychpit, Basingstoke, we are now ready to open our third. The new location in Green Park, Reading is scheduled to open its doors in November 2025.


Position Overview


We are seeking a talented and passionate individual with experience in both producing incredible food and running a kitchen to join our growing team at The Street Bakeshop. In this hands-on role, you’ll head up the kitchen at The Street Bakeshop Green Park and manage a team of chefs to deliver the most incredible culinary experience for our customers. You will help create the menu alongside the owner and the manager and the experienced team of bakers and pastry chefs.


This is a key position within our business, helping to shape our product offering and uphold our reputation for quality, creativity, and consistency. Knowledge & Skills


· Experience: Ideal role for a Sous Chef who is ready for the next step.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop the menu alongside the manager and owner.

· Implement the menu, train chefs and sous chefs on new menu items.

· Manage a team of chefs and KPs to consistently deliver the agreed menu to the highest standards.

· Document and maintain recipes using company system/software.

· Place supply orders in accordance with established Minimum Stock Levels. Maintain stock in line with the company’s targets.

· Foster open communication within the team, with the admin team and other business areas to ensure smooth operations.

· Maintain cleanliness, adhere to food hygiene standards, and keep accurate production records.


Job Details


· Full-time position, 5 days a week, approximately 45 hours per week (may require additional hours for holiday cover).

· Shifts may include at least one weekend day per week.

· Typical work hours are likely across an early/later shift pattern 5am-2pm/7am-4pm, 5 days a week (the business operates 7 days a week).

· Salary between £35-£37k based on experience.

· Business Operation Hours: Mon to Fri 7am – 5pm, Sat 8am – 4pm, Sun 9am – 3pm

· The business is open one evening a month on a Thursday extending the business hours to 8pm.
