Offer Description
The University of Southampton is seeking a full-time technician to join its technical support team within the School of Ocean and Earth Science (SOES) on a fixed-term contract. The role is based at the Waterfront Campus, supporting the Geochemistry Research Group and its research activities, including atmospheric carbon dioxide capture and sourcing metals critical for the “green” energy revolution.
The technician will provide essential technical support to ensure laboratory operations comply with safety and procedural standards. They will collaborate with a five-person technical team to support laboratory functions and specific research or consultancy projects. The role involves learning to operate and maintain specialized laboratory equipment and demonstrating its use to postgraduate students. Although the position is full-time, flexible working arrangements are considered.
