JDR are delighted to be supporting our Client in Recruiting a Permanent Principal Maintenance Engineer
We're looking for a skilled and proactive Principal Maintenance Engineer (Electro-Mechanical) to join our Client. Working within a busy operational environment, you'll play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient maintenance and repair of fixed and mobile plant and equipment.
This hands-on role involves both scheduled and reactive maintenance, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of our state-of-the-art site and helping to minimise downtime across operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out routine and preventative maintenance on operational vehicles and machinery.
* Quickly respond to equipment breakdowns and carry out effective repairs.
* Undertake fault finding, troubleshooting and fabrication or modification work where required.
* Lead root cause analysis to identify and implement long-term solutions.
* Manage contractor activities, ensuring risk assessments, safe systems of work and permits are in place.
* Accurately identify required parts and support efficient inventory management.
* Maintain and develop the Preventive Planned Maintenance (PPM) programme.
* Uphold high standards of health and safety, housekeeping and operational discipline.
* Liaise effectively with other departments to support site-wide operations.
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience as an Electrical/Mechanical Fitter.
* Strong knowledge of maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of plant equipment.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with internal teams and contractors.
* A proactive, flexible approach and commitment to health and safety.
* Full, clean UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications
* HNC or equivalent.
* 18th Edition (current).
* IOSH Working Safely or similar.
* Familiarity with Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).
