Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Location: Wavertree, Liverpool
Salary: 100 - 110 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Long-term
Start Date: 22nd of September 2025
Are you a caring, patient, and enthusiastic individual with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs? A friendly and inclusive primary school in Wavertree is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team and make a real difference in the lives of our pupils.
About the Role
You will support one or more children with additional needs – including autism, speech and language difficulties, social and emotional needs, or learning delays – either on a 1:1 basis or within a small group. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you'll play a key role in helping pupils feel safe, supported, and able to access learning.
Responsibilities
* Supporting pupils with EHCPs and identified SEN needs in the classroom
* Implementing tailored strategies and interventions under teacher guidance
* Building positive, trusting relationships with children and their families
* Helping pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and independence
* Promoting an inclusive learning environment for all children
* Supporting the class teacher with planning and preparation where appropriate
Qualifications
* Has experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting
* Is calm, nurturing, and able to adapt to different pupils' needs
* Understands the importance of safeguarding and child protection
* Can work as part of a supportive team and communicate effectively
* Holds a relevant TA qualification or equivalent experience (desirable but not essential)
